The high-luminance white LED lamps use less power and enable scanning immediately after you press the power button. Seven EZ Buttons automate the scanning process so it's simple to scan, copy and create emails and multi-page PDFs. To make it even easier, the new Auto Scan Mode detects your type of original, then scans and saves it with the optimal settings.
Customer Reviews of Canon CanoScan 5600F Document and Film Scanner
Scanner delivered without a hitch.9/17/2012
No problem, great price!
High scan quality and fast operation. Only drawback is that the set up for front buttons may require reading through manual. Not a quick easy set up.
Great for Old Slides!9/26/2010
Bought this scanner specifically to scan my many old slides. Scanning them with the included slide holder is quite easy. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Only downside: it has a large footprint.
Good buy - happy with purchase5/17/2009
Bought this scanner to replace an old, old one. I was amazed at how fast it scans documents and photos. Really like the negative scan ability. Overall a good value and I would recommend for a home/home office.
I LOVE this scanner!! I bought it for scanning a variety of media, including photos, newspaper clips, 35mm slides, and photo negatives. Integration with Windows XP was seamless. It is by far the easiest setup of any peripheral that I have encountered. The scanner works with wonderful speed and accuracy. Features are exceptional, as are the scans. Quick start guide manual as well as "help" topics on cd are detailed and easy to understand. I have had the scanner for only 24 hours but have scanned all types of media listed above with only excellent results. The only possible downside is that the scanner is bulky, but that's no problem so long as you have space. I would recommend this scanner to anyone!
Great quality and ease of use1/18/2009
I would recommend this scanner to anyone. Settings are easy to navigate. Scan quality is very good. Lower resolution scanning is very quick and even though it does take up to 5 minutes in the max resolution, it is worth the wait. I bought this scanner with the intent to scan very old 28mm negatives and it did a really good job considering it isn't designed for that size. When I had a question related to the unusual task at hand Canon customer service was very helpful. No complains.
