STOP thinking about it!!!8/25/2008
This camera is the VERY best deal on the internet! It is rated as one of the TOP cameras being sold today, and this one is being sold from a VERY reliable company. It works WONDERFULLY! after being shipped it was received w/in 3 days, and the photo's are incredible!! I would also suggest purchasing the ScanDisk 8G Compact Flash Card to use with this camera - it's very inexpensive. I bought both together, and I couldn't be happier with everything and how easy it all is to use!
Better than I expected !!3/29/2008
WOW!! I had a friend who bought this same camera and I bought it by just browsing through his user manual. It is absolutely incredible how clear the pics are. Had it 2 days and already shot 250 pics. You'll be happy when you buy this. I shopped around and buy.com was the best. Good luck and enjoy cause "this aint no practice life!"
IT'S CANON ... ENOUGH SAID!!!!7/3/2007
The camera is very easy to use. I am completely new with D-SLR cameras but I found it to be extremely user-friendly (i shoot mostly in manual mode, sometimes Tv (shutter priority) and seldom Av(apenture priority). Do recommend that you learn to operate the buttons by feeling. Once you do, you'll never miss a shot. The quality of the pictures is exceptional. Correct color tone with wide dynamic range. higher ISO gives you the ability to shoot in low light even when others P&S users start to put their camera away. I also recommend to save your money on the kit lens for it's not very good in quality. invest the money in a Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens and you will thanks me for it.
Great Camera,Great Buy6/8/2007
This is a great camera. So far so good. Nothing to complain. Even though it is reported that there is a explosion problem of include lens kit, I did not notice that this affect much to me since I am not a professional photographer. The price at buy.com is a little higher, but I usually purchase my tech. item from buy.com, and I am satisfied with buy.com's fast processing and item quality.
Super camera for the advanced amateur5/25/2007
Very pleased with camera. Excellent resolution. Instruction book a bit cryptic; too many undefined abbreviations. Lots to learn. A bit disappointed that a memory card was not included. Excellent price through buy.com.
BUY.COM is a great online retailer. Camera came very quickly, as advertised..etc. The XTi is awesome. Great camera for Prosumer type. The Kit lens is ok, but once I got a 28-135mm IS Canon lens I realized the poor quality of the kit lens. So I if i had to do it over again, i would not get the kit and only the XTi body, with the 28-135 lens and save a few dollars on the kit lens. I will never use it again.
I really have very little knowledge about Photography! The Canon EOS Rebel XTI was recommended by a Friend! So, brand new owner and def. an amateur, but so far so good! Great pictures and I'm having a blast!
It's easy to use and easy to down load - I have been using Nikon for some time but Canon is impressive too.
