Once there was a peddler who sold caps. But he was not like an ordinary peddler carrying his wares on his back. He carried them on top of his head. (from the first line)
"First published by William R. Scott, Inc. as a Young Scott Book"-- T.p. verso.
From the Publisher:
Ages 4 to 8.A Tale of a Peddler, Some Monkeys and Their Monkey Business
All the cap peddler's caps are taken by monkeys, who put them on and perch high in a tree. How can the peddler get his merchandise back? Demands and threats don't work, but something else does. A wonderful book to read aloud.
