7.1 wallplate review
I was wiring a home theater in my bonus room and needed to have a 7.1 wallplate that would fit in a dual gang low voltage box. After doing some searching, most of the wallplates needed a triple gang box. I was able to find this one and the Buy.com price and my prior order satisfaction with them sealed the deal.
The only drawback is that due to the compact size of the unit, the terminals are fairly close together, but I was able to attach all my speaker wires OK while holding the plate in one hand. There are several ways to wire the terminals. I used the nut method of screwing the terminal onto the wire. I did not use all of the terminals since I am wiring my subwoofer directly to the receiver.
I like the wallplate since it is marked as to what each terminal does, position and polarity. My other altenative would have been to construct a dual gang wallplate using inserts and terminals, but this would have been more expensive and not had the terminals labeled as this wallplate does.
The item was received within a few days of ordering and the shipping cost was very low. I would buy another one if I needed to do this setup again.
