|In 1890, two students at oxford force their rascally friend and fellow student to pose as an aunt from brazil--where the nuts come from.|
Editor's NoteJack Benny stars in this black-and-white comedy caper from 1941. In CHARLEY'S AUNT, Charley Wyckham (Richard Haydn) and Jack Chesney (James Ellison) are two students who manage to persuade their colleague Fancourt Babberly (Benny) to dress in drag and assume the guise of Charley's Brazilian aunt, Donna Lucia. The boys hope that Aunt Donna Lucia will act as a chaperone for two women they have their eyes on, but events take a SOME LIKE IT HOT kind of turn as Charley's "aunt" becomes an object of desire.
