|The discovery that they are descendants of a long line of witches finds three sisters battling demons and warlocks -- and occasionally each other.|
When the beautiful Halliwell sisters inherit a house from their grandmother and discover a secret Book of Shadows, they learn that they each have a unique power. The strong-willed Prue (Shannen Doherty) can move objects, reserved Piper (Holly Marie Combs) is able to freeze time, and the uninhibited Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) sees the future. Individually, each is strong, but it is only by putting aside their differences and banding together as the "Power of Three" that they will be able to protect the innocent and vanquish evil. Each exciting episode in this richly layered series is a supernatural adventure brewing with suspense and humor.
This 49 disc collection includes all 173 episodes of Charmed!

Editor's NoteThe Aaron Spelling-produced television drama CHARMED follows the adventures of three modern-day witches juggling their supernatural abilities with the demands of everyday life. The Halliwell sisters, Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), Piper (Holly Marie Combs), and Prudence (Shannon Doherty)--later replaced by Rose McGowan as half-sister Paige--use their magical powers to protect innocent people from demons while struggling to rise above the childish bickering of sisterhood to work together as a team. This collection presents the series in its entirety for a total of eight seasons.

On a positive note, the packaging is superb. I love my Book of shadows that houses the DVD's. The series is fun to watch and enjoyable. As far as the discs, Paramount should be ashamed. I have bought many DVD collections in my life, but these are inferior beyond excuse. Many are spattered with a gluey snot that I cannot remove, and it makes parts of the disc unplayable. I understand that this has been an ongoing problem with this collection, and that Paramount will replace these gooey discs, but how are they getting to the retail sellers in that condition? And any of the nighttime scenes are so darkened that you can see only that... darkness. Both my TV set & my DVD player are new, and are mid range models & play other discs well, so it's not my equipment. I feel that Paramount should invest in a few quality control guidelines before joining in on the retail front.
