Great Quality & Feel, Wish Key Keys Were Bigger
My squishy, cheap mini-keyboard gave out after only 2 years (the keyboard paint on frequently-struck keys wore off after one year), so this time I turned to my uber techie, assembly-language- programming, Nullsoft son-in-law for advice. I wanted a REALLY GOOD keyboard this time. He told me that Cherry is the choice of the technical cognoscenti. Buy.com had a great price so I jumped on it. It cost about 2-3x as much as the cheapies, but is worth every single penny. The cheapies aren't in the same class with the Cherry. The feel and the clickiness is FABULOUS. And hey: I used IBM Selectrics as well as the first IBM PC (dual floppy, no HDD) keyboards back in the day, so I know of what I speak. The Cherry build quality is superb. My only complaint is they went a little overboard on the "mini"aturization for my liking. Now, mind you, it has all the keys a mini should have (this model even includes the coveted Windows key), BUT the Enter, Shift, and other key keys that are usually a lot bigger are only a little bigger. Even the Spacebar is not real long. HOWEVER, I quickly became proficient in the extra precision required. Now, I once again listen to and enjoy the wonderful clickily-clack of old and feel the certain responsivenss, the likes of which I haven't felt in years. This is a great product.
