Built-in and add-on applications
The Cisco NSS 322 Smart Storage includes built-in applications and the ability to add new applications, enabling you to extend the device’s value beyond storage and delivering more value for your investment. Built-in applications include a user-configurable web server with an integrated WordPress publishing platform and a built-in Twonky Universal Plug n’ Play media server and iTunes server. Running applications like these on your NAS helps ensure that they are available at all times and can eliminate the need for additional devices on the network.

Flexible, high-availability design
The Cisco NSS 322 supports multiple operating environments to enable file sharing across Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms. The NAS device offers multiple backup modes, including PC/Mac to Smart Storage, server to Smart Storage, or Smart Storage to Smart Storage. You can also use Cisco Smart Storage as an iSCSI target for virtualized and clustered environments. It features RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) 0 and 1 configurations, which help safeguard your data. And it’s the hot-swap design lets you replace failed drives without shutting down the Smart Storage device. The Cisco NSS 322 is also energy efficient, allowing you to schedule power on and off according to working hours, and conserve power with an Energy Star V-rated power adapter and hard disks that spin down when inactive.
