Built-in and add-on applications
Cisco NSS 324 includes built-in and add-on applications and the ability to add new applications, allowing you to extend the NAS device’s value beyond storage and get more value for your investment. Built-in applications include a user-configurable web server with an integrated WordPress publishing platform as well as built-in syslog and RADIUS servers that help simplify user authentication and network management.

Flexible, high-availability design
Cisco Smart Storage supports multiple operating environments to enable file sharing across Windows, Macintosh, and Linux platforms. The NAS device offers multiple backup modes, including PC/Mac to Smart Storage, server to Smart Storage, or Smart Storage to Smart Storage. You can also use Cisco Smart Storage as an iSCSI target for virtualized and clustered environments.

The Cisco NSS 324 features RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) 0, 1, 5, and 6 configurations, which help safeguard your data. And the hot-swap design lets you replace failed drives without shutting down the Smart Storage device. Cisco Smart Storage is also energy efficient, allowing you to schedule power on and off according to working hours, and conserve power with an Energy Star V-rated power adapter and hard disks that spin down when inactive.
