The switch uses advanced network practices to help ensure data quality. More than just fast, the SR2016 delivers reliability with an easy-to-operate framework.
Great Plug-n-Go product6/11/2012
Unit was straightforward to install and setup. Ample mounting options and is beefy enough to sit horizontal and not be pulled off the shelf by the cables.
compact and easy to use10/13/2010
It did all that I need it to do. Was easy to set up with NO software. Will buy one for work and price was right.
Fan Very Loud.5/10/2009
I have this in a Spare Bedroom closet and The Fan Is Very loud. Everything else works Great and Super Fast. Cisco needs to use a better quality Fan. You would never notice it in a basement or other location.
An excellent switch5/26/2008
I've been running one for four years without a problem. I bought it to run a network that's users sling around a lot of large jpg files and it works great. Only drawback is the fan is noisy on the unit I have. Maybe this has improved in the current version. I also run a nightly backup across the network. I found I needed to use DAT72 media to backup all of my 20Gb of data. Using a smaller tape will not get my whole backup, primarily because media is spooling by unused while data is buffered to the drive. The gigabit network helps, but is, of course, not as fast as a local backup would be. This really has nothing to do with the switch but if you are thinking your backup performance over the network will improve by going gigabit, there are a lot of other variables to consider in that equation.
Great linksys product ...12/14/2006
Great value for a 16 port hub. Has run flawlessly and the fan is much quieter than the 8 port SD version I bought a year ago. I have not used any of the management capabilities.
Answer to my slow network prayers10/3/2006
I purchased this Gig switch and NIC to speed up a network that handles a lot of word documents stored on a server. Before the upgrade my PC would sit and search with the moving flashlight anywhere from 30 seconds to more than a minute while the documents loaded. With the new Gig Switch and NIC it is almost instantly loaded. The amount of time I save is not nearly as important as the eliminated frustration of staring at that stupid little flashlight for up to 10 minutes a day.
