Only One Bird Comes Out Alive...
| The only thing deadlier than the blood sport of cockfighting is the political intrigue surrounding it. Oklahoma Senator, Michael Turner (Robert Knott - "Pollock" and "Gods & Generals") is dragged into the political struggle over cockfighting when one of his constituents, a cockfighter, is murdered. At the request of his ex-girlfriend, FBI agent Becky Lord (Alex Meneses - "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "Only in Miami"), Turner seeks to unravel a web of corruption around a proposed law banning cockfighting pending in the State Legislature. It appears that murder is one way to settle this issue, which involves corruption all the way from the local sheriff (Rex Linn - "CSI Miami" and "Cliffhanger") to the Governor (Wilford Brimley - "Cocoon" and "The Firm"). The dead pool deepens as Turner's good intentions and political ambition lead him down a dead end road lined with murder, bribes and shady politicians. |
