Colorado Cowboys (2010)

Editor's Note Contrary to popular belief, American cowboys didn't exactly fade from view following the demise of the 19th Century Old West: they continued to exist and thrive in various pockets of American society, even up through the early 21st century. This documentary program joins one such group of contemporary cowboys, based in present-day Colorado, for an up close and personal view of their unique lifestyles. The film includes firsthand glimpses of roping, branding and cow-milking, and joins the men on a cross-country ride, as they undertake the largest horse drive in North America. It also explores the subjects of cowboy poetry, the history of African American cowboys, and the women of the Greeley Stampede Rodeo.
