Well worth the money5/27/2007
I am very happy with the games effects, graphics and sound. The gameplay itslef is also very fun and some of the sayings that the characters have are hysterical. The only issue I have with the game is that unless the game is on the easy setting, it is VERY difficult.
It's a pretty realistic simulation of the combat of WWII... I like the squad based play, and it really reminds me of Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War. My only reservation is that the game requires a beast of a system to run at maximum capacity, but if you have that, it's beautiful. 5 stars
I love this game10/19/2006
This is a great game, I like that way you move right into the action if you want to get at ground level. The graphics are real good but make sure you have a good up-to-date video card, the game supports many cards but most of them are from that last year or so. There is a readme file that tells you which ones are supported. It is a challenging game for sure.
This is a great RTS game! It took some time getting used to the gameplay, but once I caught on I was hooked. What impresses me the most is that the world around you can change at a moments notice. A enemy tank can destroy your cover and then its time to Run for new cover!! This feature makes for endless strategic plans of attack or defense.
Get your butt Kicked!!!!10/12/2006
Great game. Fast paced RTS with tons of units, buildings and strategy. Snipers are your firends and so is taking cover. I am ha huge fan of C & C and this is a great WWII game.
Loading the CD version is a major time consuming pain in the butt, but once that is done you don't have to fool with swapping out disks. If you want to play this game the way it was designed you'd better have a pretty beefy system, with >2 Gigs Memory, a better than average video & sound cards, and a great speaker system. If you have that then sit back and let the frustration/fun begin!
As real as it gets without being there.10/6/2006
Company of Heroes is an excellent squad-based strategic view of specific WWII battles. Along the lines of "Saving Private Ryan" it has the same intensity and "you are there" type of feeling. the graphics are absolutely superb with the capability to view a battlefild from a large scope perspective and then zoom in on specific aquads to the detail of seeing them virtually at ground level and hearing their own personal squad chatter. The destructible type terrain and other details make it possible to see the difference of using various types of ground feaures and buildings for cover from fire. Very replayable!
