Easy to use, but you might need a powered USB hub
My Environment is a Dell Latitude CPi (Pentium III 650 MHz) running Windows XP SP2. Installation is a breeze! Just plug and play. There are drivers on the CD but are not required (atleast not with my environment). Its no 24-bit sound device, but digital optical I/O and analog composite RCA I/O make it a good value for the money (< $40). Problems: (1) Sounds like a whammy bar on an electric guitar--the pitch of midrange notes in music are bent severely. I added a powered USB hub and this problem went away. I did not have this problem on my IBM Thinkpad (no USB hub required). (2) Intermitent sound gaps--no sound at all for a fraction of a second. This problem also did not seem to reproduce on my IBM Thinkpad. It could be a problem with my Dell or a Dell quality issue. Not sure.
