Customer Reviews of Creative X-Fi PCI Express Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio Sound Card - PCI Express - 24 bit
This works perfectly, as I needed a sound card in a server. Placed the card in the slot, downloaded the drivers from creative (as the cd was out of date) and away we went. As a side note I did have to bend the bracket at the top, not sure if it was the card or the sever that wasn't square
This card looks good at first, but its what you dont see thats the bummer, so read on. This card really isnt a good option as it is outdated and very unstable in todays machines Creative no longer supports this card.. For gamers and people who use voice chat you wont have Mic Boost option avail, good only for music listeners. Very limited use on my Win 7 64bit system, need a gamer card too ? Going back to onboard HD sound at least it was stable and functional
Great Bang for Your Buck Here1/1/2011
I bought this card to replace the integrated sound card on a new Win7 machine. I needed 5.1 audio, mostly for listening to music and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. This card fit the bill, installed in minutes, and sounds great. It has a decent software package included too. Upgrade the drivers after you install it to get the latest goodies from creative's site.
I was upgrading my computer and added the creative x-fi pci express sound blaster card and a set of logitech 540 5.1 speakers, the sound fills the room. I am very happy with this sound card, it was an excellant choice and the price and service was fantastic.
Works with Vista4/19/2009
I was previously using the audio on the mother board. Vista patches kept changing it back to 2.1 from 5.1 and sound was crappy. I got this sound card and installed it and my troubles are all gone now. The software full install took about 2 hours to install with updates and all.
