Kenny Sykes is on a mission. He''s just moved to a new town, and is determined to make friends. In the meantime, he''s trying to make the only difference he can during the summer: rescuing the hundreds of crickets that commit suicide by jumping into Kenny''s pool.
From the Publisher:
Ostracized by everyone in his town and happy to be leaving there for good, Kenny uses the rest of his summer trying to rescue the hundreds of crickets who are killing themselves by jumping in the pool, but when a more pressing situation makes itself known, Kenny puts the crickets on hold to save a life that really matters. 12,500 first printing.

Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Phyllis Reynolds Naylor's first work was published in a church magazine when she was 16 years old.
