Nice machine, I feel like a grown-up.
This is a nice coffee maker. I had always bought the cheap 15 dollar coffee machines before, and was never surprised when they stopped working. A friend of mine had one of these machines and told me that she had had it for about six years. It still looked and worked great. I decided that the 15 bucks I spent every year for a cheap piece of junk would, over six years, buy me a pretty good coffee maker. So I got a good deal on this one and am happy with it. It works like a charm, looks nice (very shiny), and seems well built and sturdy. All the functions work as advertised: programmable timer, adjustable carafe temperature, auto-off timer, a pleasant little beeping when the brew cycle is finished, etc. I'm very pleased. Although I'll never understand why the makers of coffee machines feel it's necessary or advantageous to include a little plastic coffee scoop (I imagine most people already have some sort of spoon lying around), this one comes with the reuseable gold filter, which would cost you about eight bucks if you bought it separately. I've had it for a couple of weeks and use it at least once a day, sometimes twice, and am satisfied with my purchase so far. If it lasts four years it will have paid for itself, and if it lasts longer than that I'll think of it as getting paid 15 dollars a year for having it. And it was delivered in just three days, which I still find astounding. Free Fed-ex 3 day shipping? It's practically unheard of. I'd recommend this machine-- and if it lasts more than four years, I'll recommend it even more highly.
