This is one of the best tea kettle on the market. It has different temperature settings which makes it easy to make different teas. This is especially important in making delicate teas and teabags. One thing I'd like to point out is that the "green tea" setting is more for Japanese green tea (Sencha) instead of Chinese green tea. Chinese green tea typically requires higher temperature.
One improvement I want: give some insulation to the wall so the water stay hot for some time.
Have owned a Cuisinart electronic tea kettle in the past, but love the features of this one so decided to upgrade and retire my old one. Bought as Christmas present for my husband, so hopefully everything works as well as previous one.
We drink tea daily like most Chinese. We used to use a 4-liter tabletop hot water unit that is always heated. After changing to this, I think this is more convenient. It is surprisingly quick to heat or reheat water. Precise temperature. The inside container is stainless steel. There is a hole that links to the outside acrylic window for water level indication. Easy to wash. My wife likes it too. It is more expensive than the 4-liter units, but is is stylish and matches with other stainless appliances. The black English letters on the buttons are not durable. They wear off quickly. However, there are dents underneath the letters so you can still tell the words.
Love the options to choose various heating levels based on tea product. I like the fact that it will reheat to desired temp and auto shut off if accidentally left on. Only knock on product is that is louder then others hotpots I've had as the water heats up. Otherwise, all the other features are great enough to keep.
A beautiful and smart kettle. Allows for 6 different temperature choices for the type of tea you're brewing.
I tested it immediately on "boil' setting & heated up the water very quickly - 3-4 minutes.
Has a swivel base and the controls are well placed and easy to use.
I got a 'refurbished' model and it's in perfect condition - hard to tell that's it's not brand new. Highly recommended
Love the simple multi-temperature selection for different brews and most of the features are great. It heats water quickly and is the perfect size.
What shows over time is that their selection of stainless steel was cheap. The insides rust.
Also, the button lettering wears off pretty quickly. In a few months we saw ours fading. After a year the only button with lettering remaining is "Start".
Equipped with 1500 watts of power for fast heating, this electric kettle brings up to 1-2/3 liters of water to a rolling boil in a matter of minutes. Better than that, it offers six different preset heat settings, which allows for steeping tea at just the right temperature depending on the variety. Using the simple one-touch controls on the kettle's handle, select 160 degrees F for delicate teas, 175 degrees F for green tea, 185 degrees F for white tea, 190 degrees F for oolong tea, 200 degrees F for French press coffee, and "Boil" for black tea or to make instant cocoa, oatmeal, noodles, and more.
