From the Publisher:
Returning to work when her son's neuroblastoma goes into remission, New York City medical examiner Laurie Montgomery faces the case of her career involving the suspected poisoning murder of a CIA agent and possible links a powerful pharmaceutical company and start-up stem-cell research labs. (suspense). Reprint. |
Annotation:
The controversial and potentially lucrative world of stem-cell research provides the exciting backdrop for bestselling author Robin Cook's CURE, another in his series starring married medical examiners, Laurie Montgomery and Jack Stapleton. Laurie is just back to work after maternity leave, and the case she gets assigned initially seems open-and-shut. With her usual skepticism and determination, however, Laurie digs a little deeper and discovers a murder that is just the tip of a snarly iceberg of organized crime, international business spies, and top-secret scientific research.
