Author Info
H.A. Rey
Hans Augusto Reyersbach, later shortened to Rey, fought with the German army during World War I, after which he moved to Brazil. There he met and married Margaret Waldstein, an author and artist. The couple moved to Paris in 1936, but the Nazi invasion forced them to flee for the United States. Rey's first book, CECILY G. AND THE NINE MONKEYS, marked the first, very casual, appearance of his most famous character--Curious George. That character took the spotlight in the book CURIOUS GEORGE, which was published in 1941. In addition to his four books about Curious George, Rey also created such memorable characters as the extraordinarily long dachshund in PRETZEL and the resourceful kangaroo in KATY NO POCKETS. Since H. A. Rey died, his wife Margaret Rey and an illustrator working in H. A. Rey's style have created several more books featuring Curious George.

Editors Note This adorable padded board book follows George and his beloved teddy as they adventure together. The sweet and engaging story encourages babies to follow along and discover all George’s favorite things—from soft, warm blankets to fresh bananas to his yellow duckie. The book also includes ideas for playtime use, such as gathering items mentioned in the book and using them to create a touch-and-feel experience for baby.   As with all the Curious Baby Curious George books, this title incorporates: a baby-friendly format perfect for gift-giving, a sophisticated color and pattern-driven design, high quality materials, simple visual content, and, of course, everyone's favorite monkey--Curious George!
