New Models Make Battery Replacement Difficult7/25/2013
Previously you could purchase a replacement battery for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. The newest versions of this model appear to make this very difficult (no more slide-off cover). These are still cheaper than the equivalent APC's, and with an office full of both, have proven equally reliable. Other gripe is the unit I received went bad. Ran a self test and failed, contact support, was told these are so low wattage that this was not uncommon to trip up the software. Nope! Died not long after. Of course, APC's support has provided their own frustrations, so again I'm not seeing an advantage.
Useful and Saves Your Electronics When Needed8/28/2011
Solid performance and a good 30-50 mins of backup power when the power goes. If you need more time for backup use or have many high powered items connected you are best to go to higher models. For what this unit states and is designed for it performs well and they have a solid product track record. Unit is heay so floor or good to bolt to base board for easy access.
Very good UPS12/15/2010
The unit is compact and does what it was designed to do very well. I mounted it on the wall with all my power strips. According to the control panel, it will power my tower for 37+ minutes @ 80W. I primarily use the UPS for a graceful shutdown and restart during power outages. I also use the scheduling feature to do a restart early every morning. A restart requires the bios power fail recovery mode set. Customer support is good. Delivery was quick and the product is solid. If you want to continue gaming during a 10+ minute power outage, you'll need a bigger UPS.
Don't expect too much12/7/2010
If you're thinking you're going to use this little unit to power a typical computer and monitor--forget it. I have a 1500-watt power unit in my PC and three big monitors--what was I thinking? This unit is only 340 watts! Needless to say, I can't use this like I intended. I'll have to get a real man's unit if I hope to ever have some battery backup with my computer. I put the monitors, my DSL modem and router on the unit and it promises something like 24 minutes of juice. So it isn't a total loss.
Nice UPS for a good price (paid $58). The display is interesting, especialy the "% Load" and "Time Remaining", which is something you don't always know with other UPS products, even using the software. Speaking of that, the software loaded quickly and is easy to use. Can set it to auto shutdown after x minutes or with x minutes remaining. Another good feature is that it provides surge protection to the network cable (RJ-45 connectors), not just a phone cable (RJ-11) which is not very useful these days. This is one of the reasons why I purchased it. I think I actually like this better than all the APC units I've had over the years. This is the second time I have purchase CyberPower, and both have been good experiences.
bad unit out of box10/19/2010
I hope this is just one time bad luck, but the unit does not work when I plugged it in. The service person asked me to return it to the store, but it's out of their return period (45 days). First time for me to have a product failed out of box. Will not buy this brand again.
Great UPS with LCD Display5/17/2009
Great UPS. I am happy with the 585VA UPS plus LCD that I have used for about six months. I just bought two of the 600VA units to replace two Tripp Lite UPS's that died at the same time recently for no apparent reason. (I was surprised to discover that Tripp Lite UPS batteries were not user-replaceable since the box claimed otherwise.) Really like the CyberPower LCD readout, especially for the load capacity %, very helpful.
This UPS is great! It provides the battery back-up needed to keep your system up and running when your power is flickering off-and-on. Not only does it work by keeping the wireless router and modem from disconnecting from the DSL, provide the voltage readout in the LCD screen, but is the absolutely the only thing I have purchased that works right out-of-the box with the Mac system! Just read the directions, follow the easy steps and it does just what it says it will do!
Simple to Use1/21/2009
I bought this recently and charged it up. I'm using it to power my cable modem, VOIP adapter and routers. So far it works very well. I like the usb connection and the monitoring software. I haven't yet given it a real world test - but it's own test program was very easy to use. It thinks that it will run for 76 minutes without power.
Does what it promises with no hassles at all. Bought it 2 months ago or so.
So far so good3/12/2008
I haven't really had it for so long so I can't really point out any faults just yet. I must say, however, that the LCD display makes it much easier to see if there's any unusual readings or fluctuations in voltage without the need of a computer. This is a must have product if you live in South Florida where there are constant power outages during the rainy season.
Solid unit, good deal2/24/2008
Good, solid unit, performs exactly as expected. I didn't read the box, and was pleasantly surprised at the LED readout with "minutes left at this load", and related fields. If I'd-a known more about them, I'd-a gotten a bigger unit, but this one is working fine. In fact, I'm about to go buy a bigger one, and I'll just reposition this one elsewhere in the house.
I've only had it a week, but so far I'm happy with the purchase, it seems to do everything I hoped it would, I like the display screen with it's multiple display options.
This product performs exactly as expected. I have tested it by unplugging it from the wall outlet. All product continued to run. My fax/copier/scanner, Internet modem, computer modem and monitor screen continued to operated without any interruption. The UPS will even tell you how much time it can run with the current load. You can even set it to shut down your computer safely when it has a set amount of time left to run. This feature would come in handy if you leave your computer on while not at home. This is a great deal that will save you money and time if your power goes out unexpectedly.
Very Good Product11/29/2007
I purchased this ups to replace an APS the was wearing out and needed a new battery. Since I statred using this ups, I have had no problem with it. The software loaded easy and the new power panel is state of art.
Valuable piece of Equipment11/27/2007
A small investment to protect your valuable computer or audio equipment. Works perfectly. Tremendous value for the money.
Works, Display is Nice11/27/2007
The built in display is a nice feature. I have not done a load test of the device to determine if it will support the full specified load, but I did test it with my computer, at about 140 Watts, and it ran without going off line. Overall satisfied.
I have seen the power go off in my home and this product kept the computer running. Its great!!!!!!
