Customer Reviews of D-Link ANT24-0400 2.4GHz Indoor Omni-Directional Antenna
It offered no improvement in service.9/12/2006
I broke the antenna off the original wireless unit that I bought from Buy.com. So I searched for a replacement. This D-Link wireless antenna is much larger than the original and it was implied to be better than the original one that mounts on the back of the DI-534 router. It provides the same service in signal strength as the original and takes up a lot more space. D-Link apparently does not offer replacement parts, so this does the job. I was hoping for another bar of signal strength and I never got it.
Works Great on PC but not on Router!3/24/2006
Purchased this antenna and hooked it up to my Dlink router and it made no difference in recepton for my computers at all. I then decided to try hooking it up to the Dlink pci netwok adapter on my computer instead and put original antenna back on router and now all is well. The signal went from low signal to excellent signal on my computer.
Much Better Reception!1/12/2005
I have a DI-624 wireless router/gateway and have one PC with a DWL-G520 card. Reception on the card was not that great in the location the PC was. After reading a few reviews about the ANT24-400, I decided to purchase it. The reception on the PC has moved from about 20-25% to 90%. It's a worthwhile addon if you're having problems with a PCI wireless card. The built-in antenna on the DWL-G520 is in a bad position. Recommend to anyone who's having a bad reception because of location of the PC.
d-link 4dBi antenna works very good1/2/2005
my shop is a metal buliding with two small windows so it cut my signel way down till i used this antenna. it went from 50-60% to 90-100%
I have a DLINK DWL2000AP and a DLINK DWLG800AP range extender. Before I purchased this antenna I could not get a signal upstairs. My Access point is in a closet downstairs. As soon as I installed this antenna I was able to get a connection upstairs. I then proceeded to see how far I could go. My Access point is in a closet in the back of my house. I walked out my front door down my driveway (120 ft) house is (30 feet wide) and then walked up the street another 100 ft before i finally lost my signal. My advice spend the $, it is worth it.
This antenna STINKS8/3/2004
I bought this after reading an advertisement from D-link. They suggested that you can increase your coverage area up to 1600 ft. with this antenna. It was only ~$26 so it seemed like a good buy. Just got it out of the box, and it didn't increase my coverage an INCH! In fact, it seemed that the original antenna might have been slightly better. There was NO documentation in the box, and their web site was no better. I called the technical support line, got an Indian guy who didn't know squat, told me to call back the next day between X & Y times. Forget it. I'm sending the sucker back! Don't waste your time on this piece of junk!
