What happened to D-Link?
I am a computer technician and have used D-Link products for the past several years. I always chose D-Link products for my home and recommended them to customers for their reliability and ease of use. I wanted to increase my wireless speed so I chose this router because of the faster "N" protocol.It was easy to set up as with all D-Link products, but from there on it went down hill. The speed of my network fluctuated constantly, both wireless and wired. Most of the time it stayed at a painful crawl, worse than dial up. I spent many hours tweaking every setting on this device but was never able to get it to even out or run at an acceptable speed. I finally gave up and re-installed my old router, a D-Link Di-504. Immediately my network was back to normal and fast as usual. I may have gotten a bad one, but I have spoken with other techs in the IT field and all have experienced problems with the newest D-Link products. D-Link was unable to offer any help other than to return the router and try another one.I may, but for now this offers a challenge, so I will keep it for the time being.
