Enhanced Wireless range
D-Link Wireless N products use Intelligent Antenna technology to transmit multiple streams of data, which enable you to receive wireless signals in the farthest corners of your home. Not only does the D-Link Wireless N technology extend your wireless range, it also works with your existing 802.11g wireless devices. The Wireless N Router (DIR-615) included in this kit includes QoS (Quality of Service) Prioritization Technology that analyzes and separates multiple data streams based on sensitivity to delay, enabling multiple applications including VolP, video, and online gaming to stream smoothly across your network.

The Router (DIR-615) includes an Installation Wizard* CD-ROM, which allows you to set up a wireless network in minutes. The USB Adapter (DWA-130) also includes an Installation Wizard* CD-ROM, which provides easy step-by-step instructions for a fast connection to your network. Once the router and USB adapter setup process is complete, you can share a high-speed connection, files, media, network attached storage, printers, and more.
Easy to secure
The DKT-408 kit supports the latest wireless security features to prevent unauthorized access, be it from over the wireless network or from the Internet. Support for WPA™ and WPA2™ ensure the usage of the best possible encryption available, regardless of your client devices. In addition, the Router (DIR-615) utilizes dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT) to prevent potential attacks from across the Internet.
What this product does
Create a wireless network to share high-speed Internet access with notebook or desktop PCs, gaming consoles, and media players from greater distances around your home.
Why Wireless N is better
The Wireless N Router (DIR-615) and Wireless N USB Adapter (DWA-130) use draft 802.11n technology to maximize the speed and range of your wireless signal to significantly outperform standard Wireless G devices. Both devices make use of your home or office environment by bouncing multiple wireless signals off walls and ceilings to work around obstructions and help eliminate dead spots.
Customer Reviews of D-Link DKT-408 Wireless-N USB Network Starter Kit
Good product for the price9/16/2013
Works good, only had one glitch hooking it up. It uses the same standard IP as my HughesNet modem, 192.168.0.1, that conflict caused the two not to work together...I changed the IP of the D-Link in the admin console and everything works great. I would imagine that is the problem some others are having. This D-Link's range is lacking a little but it states that it is intended for apartments on the box. It does not however state that in the description on Amazon. The USB device was equally easy to set up and use. Overall I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it. I also downloaded new firmware from DD-WRT (Google it). It is much more comprehensive than the stock D-Link software and allows you to modify settings that you dont have access to normally-such as TX Power. I am an IT guy so it was a really simple process, but if you don't follow the instructions you can end up with a dead router. I would not recommend this to the average user, it may also void the warranty.
