Customer Reviews of D-Link WUA-2340 RangeBooster G USB Adapter
I read other reviews for this product and thought it was a good deal.
I was amazed at the low price. When it arrived, it not only worked immediately (plug and play in my Win 7 PC) but it also came with a USB cable *and* stand so that it could sit on my desk and not just plugged into the USB port!
Replaces a Netgear USB adapter on a desktop PC running Windows XP. Always connects at 54Mb using the Windows Utility. Easy to install. Great price and quick delivery.
If you are planning to use this wireless adapter for very long periods of time. Beware... This little guy over heats and will lose internet connection. If you are planning to use the internet for AT LEAST an hour, I highly suggest you to buy something that is far more reliable. There were times where I got so pissed at it, I literally set a ziplock bag full of ice on top of my adapter to prevent it from overheating. It actually worked, but it was a temporary solution. If you guys are planning to buy a reliable wireless adapter, I suggest you look at Zonet ZEW2500P. Good luck with your purchase! :)
Easier than an internal card!4/9/2008
The D-Link RangeBooster G WUA-2340 Wireless USB Adapter - IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 was pretty easy to install (Use the Windows utility if it is an option - the D-Link utility did not work so well.) As far as speed/Range - it is about the same as the internal card I used prior to its failure. The only down side I have found is that it gets better reception if you use the stand - which is wired and a bit ackward.
Good and Fast - annoying blinking light11/13/2007
I am using this adapter with a D-Link router and my own private home wireless network. It works very well and fast. With lots of walls between this and my router, it tells me I am getting only 50% reception, but pages download quickly and I get good performance. The blinking light on the adapter is a "feature" letting you know it is working, but I find it annoying since I put it up on my monitor to get good reception. I turned it around to cover it up some - but otherwise a great product.
