Author Bio
John Sandford
After serving in the Korean War, John Sandford began his journalism career working in Missouri and Iowa before moving to Florida in 1970. He worked for "The Miami Herald" for eight years before moving again to Minnesota to work for "The Saint Paul Pioneer Press", where he became a popular columnist. In the mid-'80s, during what was then called the "Farm Crisis," Sandford, under his given name John Camp, wrote a five-part series focusing on the hardships of a Minnesota farming family. His reporting won him a Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. Several years later, Sandford published his first novel, "The Fool's Run", followed almost simultaneously by "Rules of Prey", the first novel in his popular Prey series, featuring policeman Lucas Davenport. Often revolving around a disturbing crime or demented criminal, the majority of Sandford's novels are psychological thrillers with tough characters and fast pacing.
