The "New York Times" bestselling author brilliantly re-imagines the classic story in a mesmerizing original four-part series that brings the 200-year-old "creature," a literate, mysterious loner, to modern day New Orleans on the trail of his creator and the serial killer he has spawned.
From the Publisher:
In a dramatic reworking of Mary Shelley's classic horror novel, Detective Carson O'Connor and her partner, Michael Maddison, are confronted by a vicious serial killer who stalks the city streets in search of victims that possess the humanity missing in himself, and uncover a link to an ages-old conspiracy in which their quarry in not only a homicidal maniac but also his deranged maker. Original.
This volume marks the launch of a new series, in which two bestselling authors join forces to update Mary Shelley's most famous work. Two police detectives hunting down a serial killer stumble upon a shocking secret: the murderer was not born but manufactured, created by scientist Victor Helios, who in the 19th century bore another name: Victor Frankenstein.
Author Bio
Dean R. Koontz
Along with Stephen King, Koontz is the preeminent horror writer of his age, selling millions and millions of books worldwide. Koontz had a horrific childhood; his father was an abusive alcoholic and his mother was mentally unstable, and they both actively discouraged him from pursuing a writing career. However, when the 12-year-old Koontz won an essay contest, the seed was planted. He studied education and was a high school English teacher from 1967 to 1969, at which point he began writing full time. At the end of the '90s, Dean Koontz has written nearly 80 books of suspense or horror.
