| On Christmas Eve 1989, Marek is beaten in the street and left to die in a dump. He survives after the brain surgery, but it leaves him an amnesiac. He wanders through the city, finds shelter with a mad bag lady, and searches for his identity. Meanwhile, his fate is a source of consternation not only to his family, but also to his assailants, who fear Marek will testify against them. |

Editor's Note
Polish director Waldemar Krzystek helms this poignant tale about a man named Marek (Jan Frycz), who suffers a brutal beating at the hands of some merciless thugs on the streets of Poland. Regaining consciousness after extensive brain surgery, Marek has no idea who he is or what happened, leading the hospital to deduce that he is suffering from amnesia. As Marek tries to figure out who he is, both his family and the gang of attackers who put him in the hospital fret about what to do, but for very different reasons!
