Notes & Personnel Info
Muze PNote Personnel: Jimmy Wayne (vocals, acoustic guitar); Joe West (various instruments); Dave Pahanish (guitar, banjo, mandolin, background vocals); Biff Watson (acoustic guitar); Scotty Sanders (steel guitar); Jimmie Lee Sloas (bass instrument); John Richardson , Shannon Forrest (drums); Wes Hightower (background vocals).
Muze PNote More than five years after his promising self-titled debut, country singer Jimmy Wayne finally unveiled his sophomore album, DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW. Like the earlier outing, the record boasts a gritty, heartfelt mood informed by Wayne's hard-knock youth, with the defiant "Kerosene Kid" and the urgent "No Good for Me," a duet with Patty Loveless, standing out as key tracks.

Producer: Dave Pahanish; Joe West; Mark Bright

Artist Overview

North Carolinan singer/songwriter Jimmy Wayne transcended a turbulent, traumatic youth to become first a prison guard and then a country hitmaker. His self-titled 2003 debut album for DreamWorks generated four country hits. When the label shut its doors, Wayne wound up in a music-biz shuffle that translated into a five-year wait for the follow-up, DO YOU BELIEVE ME NOW, released on Big Machine/Valory in '08. He hadn't lost his touch in the interim, though--the title track earned Wayne his first country Number One.
