Twelve-year-old Danny thinks that there is something very familiar about the girl who plays shortstop on the team he faces during the championship series, and his curiosity leads him to a surprising discovery about his own adoption.
From the Publisher:
Danny Walker worries about being chosen for the All-Star team, after seeing the latest star play for the Jaguars, and finds himself becoming curious about this mysterious player, when he feels he somehow knows her from somewhere in his past. Reprint.
Danny Walker thinks he is a shoo-in as shortstop for the all-star team until he sees the competition, a girl named Tammy Aiken. As Danny competes with Tammy he senses something familiar about her. He also notices that she looks an awful lot like him. Danny, who is adopted, comes to believe that Tammy, who is also adopted, is his twin sister.
Author Bio
Matt Christopher
Matt Christopher was a semiprofessional baseball player until an injury permanently benched him. His first book, THE LUCKY BASEBALL BAT, was published in 1954. Christopher's specialty is writing children's books with a sports theme--not just limited to his personal specialty, baseball, but also football, hockey, basketball, and a variety of other sports. His more recent works, while still focusing on a sports theme, have also added elements of mystery, fantasy, and the supernatural.
