From the Publisher
Annotation A dragon princess named Shimmer embarks on a quest to recover a stolen magic pebble--a pebble that holds the sea she calls home. Along the way she is joined by an orphan boy named Thorn who, despite Shimmer's doubts, is able to help her recover the stone. The story, based in part on a Chinese legend, is told in the first person by both Shimmer and Thorn.
First Line I stopped when I smelled the magic. It was strong magic. Old magic. And it carried the faint scent of the sea.
Editors Note Centuries of wandering have taught the exiled dragon princess Shimmer that humans are beneath her notice. But she allows young Thorn to join her in the search for the evil witch Civet--and the quest to restore her dragon clan's lost home. By the Newbery Honor-winning author of Dragonwings.
