Author Bio
Dav Pilkey
A lover of wordplay, especially puns, Dav (pronounced "Dave") Pilkey is the author and illustrator of fiction and nonfiction books for children. Pilkey is known for his outrageous sense of humor and some of his more popular characters include an intellectually challenged family of rabbits (the Dumb Bunnies books) and a school principal who is unwittingly hypnotized by his students into becoming a crime fighter (the Captain Underpants books). As an artist, Pilkey works in a variety of mediums including, he claims, Hamburger Helper and Dijon mustard. His 1997 illustrations for the book PAPERBOY earned him a Caldecott Honor citation.
