|Nintendo DS Lite revolutionizes the way games are played with ultra-bright dual screens and touch-screen technology. Connect wirelessly to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and put your skills to the test against players across the room or across the world.
With impressive 3D rendered graphics and ultra-bright screens, Nintendo DS Lite delivers cutting-edge portable games for fans of any genre. With the Nintendo DS Headset, you can talk and chat over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or voice command games.
System: With Nintendo DS Lite, dual screens and touch-screen technology allow you to interact with games like never before. Wireless communication allows you to experience real-time multiplayer gameplay, and the free Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service allows you to compete against players from around the globe.
Dual Screens: Two incredibly bright LCD screens offer one of the most groundbreaking gameplay advances ever developed. Each 3-inch screen can reproduce a true 3D view, with impressive 3D renderings that can surpass images displayed on the Nintendo 64.
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection: Ready to take on the world? Now, with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, you can connect wirelessly, chat and play with Nintendo DS owners across the globe. All you need to play is a Nintendo DS and a Wi-Fi-ready game. There are no subscription fees -- the service is free!
Touch Screen Technology: The lower screen offers something never before provided by any dedicated game device: touch-screen capabilities.
You no longer have to rely on just buttons to move your character or shift perspectives. Navigate menus or access inventory items simply by touching the screen with a stylus or fingertip. The possibilities are limited only by developers' imaginations.
The touch screen features a tougher film cover for durability, and the included stylus is stored in the back of the unit.
Microphone Port: A built-in microphone port means that with Nintendo DS, you only need to tell your games what to do.
The Nintendo DS microphone gives you even more ways to interact with your favorite games.
Wireless Network: With Nintendo DS Lite, you can connect with a local wireless network of up to 16 players. The wireless range can be an incredible 30 to 100 feet and for some games, multiplayer requires just one Nintendo DS game card.
Note: Nintendo DS Lite wireless communication, including PictoChat, is not private and is not monitored by Nintendo. We recommend that you never reveal any personal information or arrange to meet a stranger.
Rich Stereo Sound: Nintendo DS Lite sound capabilities allow for greatly expanded use of voices and music, and a richer, more immersive game experience. Stereo speakers allow for virtual surround sound and a plug for headphones transmits stereo sound.
Backward Compatibility: Nintendo DS Lite features a separate media port for Game Boy Advance cartridges, allowing you to play all your favorite Game Boy Advance games in single-player mode.
Customer Reviews of DS Lite (Crimson & Black)
Is a really fun thing to play on. There are so many fun games to play on it. There are pictures and games that you can buy of the ds shop. It is smaller and can fit in your pocket and is portable. There are even math and learning games for it so it is good for the whole family.

overall good basic handheld game system
Great system if you still want to play GBA games!9/24/2011
This is a great handheld system, it's unfortunate that the new models can't play old GBA games because they lack the GBA slot. This DS lite system is small in size and extremely portable so if you're on the bus or some sort of commute you can easily pull it out and play with it. The screens are a bit smaller compared to the new systems but they're still high-quality. The DS games play great as well so it all depends on what functionality you want. I'd definitely recommend this!
Perhaps not as powerful as the PSP, the NDS makes up for it with an array of innovative features and terrific game properties.
Free Shipping and No TAX ! ! !2/11/2009
Although the price of this DS is same every where, It still is a no brainer to buy it from buy.com. No Taxes and free shipping. Love the 4GB micro SD card I bought and all the games I can play on it.
Your wife will love it8/8/2008
Does you wife stay at home with your kids? Does she play solitaire on the computer to break away? Does she love simple games like tetris? Buy her a DS! Seriously look at Cake Mania and Cake Mania 2. My wife loves them - and it really gives her the break she needs from the kids. There is a side note though - if your kids don't have one, they will watch over her shoulder which kind of defeats the purpose of giving her something to get away from the kids. But if your kids have a DS as well, some of the games allow connection between the two - and they have a blast! My wife has the Pink, and I bought this one for my son - you know why.
for a brain work out4/2/2008
I bought this strictly for Brain Age 1 & 2 and fast focus to exercise mine and my wife's brains. Millions of these things have been sold and it seems like all our nieces and nephews have them but even for adults, with the right game, it is a lot of fun. Have not been able to get the wireless function to work, not intuitive at all. The unit is a nice size and handy to have on a trip or waiting around for something and the 3 games I mentioned are surprisingly effective.
Portable and powerful!1/20/2008
The great graphics on the DS are clear as well as sound effects. I bought Brain Age for the game and there are no glitches. A little hungry for power when playing on extended periods but that is to be expected.
Nintendo DS Light - Crimson / Black1/10/2008
I have stayed away from the DS and DS light since it was introduced, but I have to say, the Crimson / Black color is much more grown up and less kid-like. I have seen several other adults in coffee shops plunking away at their DS lite with such adult titles as the Brain Age series and My Word Coach to help those of us in the second half of their life. My older sister now plays Zelda, and I am hooked on the Need-for-Speed series. In comparison to the Sony PSP, I have to say, that graphics are a slight step down, with the DS, but the DS can do nearly everything the PSP can do, even watch movies and get on the internet. More important are the titles for adults. Nintendo is finally hitting my age group, and I am a happy, and old camper!
Ten Year Old Heaven11/29/2007
My son got this for his birthday, and he loves it so much that we've found him sneaking playing time whenever and wherever he can. I don't know if is newfound obsession is a good thing, but I know he loves his DS and its cool color. My one complaint is that the games don't necessarily tell him how to use the touch pad all the time, but he doesn't seem to mind figuring it out.
I love my Crimson DS Lite!11/28/2007
I bought this game system for my son, but my husband and I use it just as much. There are so many great games geared toward adults. There are lots of great kids games, also. The crimson color is really nice. I'm so glad we bought it!
