light weight vacuum, light weight cleaner5/26/2010
It was time to replace my trusty Eureka, and I'd never used a Dyson before. This seemed like a good deal, until I got it and used it. The vacuum seemed very flimsy and poorly engineered, and I was underwhelmed by its performance. Thank goodness Buy.com accepted my return, even though I couldn't take it apart to pack and ship it properly. I'm happily using a Bissel now, with better cleaning and big savings. The Dyson was lightweight and easy to manuever, but a poor performer.

Looks like a robot4/16/2010
We've had this vaccuum for a few weeks now. I suggested it to my husband and he was excited about buying it since it "looks like a robot" and his family always had Dysons. It works very well and is light weight which makes it easier for stairs or taking outside to vacuum the car. It seems to get really fine dust and we do have to empty the canister often but that is just as much because it is fun to press the button and open up the bottom as because it is full. My last vaccuum took forever to fill the bag. I guess this vacuum gets a lot more stuff. 300 dollars is a lot for a vacuum, but not if it lasts, so time will tell if this was a good value.
This vacuum sucks...3/24/2010
but that's a good thing for a vacuum. We already have other Dyson's in the house, but needed one for our lake house. I got this one for the price. When it arrived, I was a bit dissapointed at the size of the box and the unit when I put it together, but after my wife used it, she was very pleased. The smaller size makes it easier to move around and carry up stairs, especially when you are using the wand and attachments. A typical Dyson when it comes to performance. Assembly was simply two steps and the parts clicked together perfectly and easily. The white color is going to take some getting used to, but then I said that about the purple and yellow ones we already have. My wife won't use any other brand vacuum.
This Dyson 24 Blue Print Is Just Wonderful3/24/2010
I have owned a Dyson DC14 for many years and thought it was great but it was alot bigger and heavier, True the collection basket was larger than this Blue Print model, but it's performance, combined with the as advertised pick up power makes Dyson the reason I keep coming back. This vacuum is light weight, and has a smaller pickup basket, which means you have to empty it more. But I beleive it's because it picks up more with every stroke of the beater bar. I used the Bill Me Later feature to buy it, without a problem. It will hold it's value as did my DC 14, which I sold in one day of advertising for $125 and I had it for more than 6 years. I'm convinced Dyson it the bomb.
Yes, it's a DC24 Blueprint3/24/2010
The pictures and model number are correct. This is a Dyson DC24 Blueprint Limited Edition which sold at Target for $429. It is NOT a $600 vacuum cleaner. That being said, it is really nice. I have been using a Hoover Windtunnel bagless model for several years and tired of repairing it, shlepping it and finding belts and filters for it. This Dyson is small, lightweight, powerful, and relatively quiet. It does an excellent job on all surfaces, and I no longer dread vacuuming my carpeted stairways. Cleaning under my king-size sleigh bed has been difficult until now. The mini flat our head attachment lets you get under furniture with very little clearance. Untangling cords that get caught in the roller is also pretty painless. Missing from this unit are a headlight and cord retraction mechanism. The cord is shorter than I'm used to and the hose is also rather short, but the unit itself is so light, I can hold it up by the handle with one hand while cleaning with the other. There's no "self-propulsion" either, but the ball design is ingenious and lets you move nimbly. The narrower head gets in between places that would have forced me to change over to the attachments on my old Hoover. The reversible wand takes a little getting used to, but it works well. The combination tool is clever and effective. Overall, I'm impressed with the design of this machine and I'm delighted with its performance. With no bags, belts or filters to buy, I'm very happy with this purchase.
So far I love it. It is smaller than expected so you have to empty the container quite often. I can see that my old Oreck was not picking up the dirt and dog hair at all. I love that I can use this on hardwood floors and not have to drag out my central vac hoses. It is on the short side for my tall husband to use, but perfect for the kids to help out. Easy to carry up & down the stairs. Very quiet and good suction power. Loved the price. Easy to store.
WOW... this is the best ever!3/13/2010
First...Order Date: 3/12/2010 I got it TODAY! 3/13-2010 awesome. Ok so it arrived and was so easy to put together...very few parts and no tools needed. I had to hoooh up the handle, snap on the beater bar and one attachment. Took like 5 min. This is a smaller version as far as weight goes and I am so happy about that.Being disabled I have a hard time with heave things and this is perfect! I vacuumed already and it was great...got alot more stuff that was missed and I have til e and and only three bed rooms with carpet. This Dyson works flawlessly! I am so happy! Thank you Dyson and thank you Buy.com!
Dyson Ball... Great Value3/13/2010
This is smaller than I anticipated, but it works just like i expected. Other Dysons are larger, however this seems to have the same performance I expected...
I ordered the vacuum on Tuesday and it showed up at my house today with the free shipping. Very Cool. It is small, it is light, it has good (not great) suction, it is super maneuverable, it has a great pictorial user manual, and it's handle lowers for storing in a closet. You won't believe how small it is. Yes, it's cord is short. Yes, there are many complaints about failing product. Yes it's a Dyson (some people love them, some hate them). After my first use of the vacuum, I am part of the group that love it.
