Customer Reviews of EasyN Wireless IP Pan/Tilt/ Night Vision/ Internet Surveillance Camera Built-in Microphone With Phone remote monitoring support
Good product for the money6/10/2013
Great product for the money. Good controls. Requires IE to use all features, but sufficient through any other browser. Once the camera reset itself as if rebooted, and was pointed at a random spot. I was able to fix that by creating preset to where I want it to "look" and made it the default direction to go to after the reboot.
Good Value but must be tech savy2/13/2013
Has a lot of really cool features but beware that the documentation is poor. The external web site for remote access did not work. You will need to manually configure your router and firewall to access the camera from outside the home. Only the extensive features like motion alarm and email alert offset the really non-existant documentation. The software CD was unbalanced - hard to read in optical drive.
Plugged it in read the directions to hook up and it was up and running on my home network in 10 minutes. Got out my smartphone and downloaded an IP camera AP and had it working from the smart phone in another 10 minutes.
I don't have much experience with these cameras, so it is difficult for me to compare. Installation was easy enough, but I have a networking background and I imagine it could trip up the uninitiated easily. That probably accounts for those that hated this item. Images were quite clear for the 30 feet of living room I've used this in. But at 30 feet I couldn't read the face of a 8" grandmother clock. Wanted to read license plates in driveway. Dont think this will work for such.
Horribly dificult device4/30/2012
This product is terrible. It's software is all Chinese, it doesn't install as quick reference says it should, it is absolutely the worst technology Ihave ever bought.
I've not hooked item up or tested yet, although it did arrive quickly.
Read carefully, Pan Tilt NO ZOOM. But it's not bad for the price.
Instructions were awful4/28/2012
The product instructions were terrible. Fortunately, I'm a computer geek and have installed a few of these, so I was able to get it working, but this is not for someone who is not computer savvy.
Sparkling little camera4/23/2012
A bit poor on the translation from Chinese, the instructions are a bit sketchy at best, but all the words are spelled correctly, sometimes the wrong word, but spelled correctly. (Such are the problems when picking the first word in the list with spell check.) Given this, some knowledge of networking is really helpful.
Camera great, but software poor4/20/2012
Camera set up easily, but trying to use it in other camera monitoring softwares (eg. ISpy) is difficult. The EasyN devices are not listed in ISpy, so the PTZ cannot be controlled.
GREAT for the $4/6/2012
Yes, this camera was a little technical when it came to connecting it to my router and getting "Port Forwarding" setup working, but it works great for the price. It was easy to hook up to my wireless network locally; just kind of a pain to set up the WAN feature. There is a plastic piece that came with the camera that seems like it would be used for mounting it, but I can't figure out how this works.
Well worth the money9/24/2011
Great little unit - easy to set up, easy to use. The remote phone app doesn't seem to be available, though. The picture quality is as expected, and while I like having the ablility to set the speed of the pan function, that speed function doesn't work on my second camera. And on one of my computers (all mine are Windows 7 machines) I can only see one camera. Other than that, it's great!
