Author Bio
Kay Thompson
Best known as the author of the "Eloise" books, Kay Thompson originally intended to be an actress. Born Kitty Fink in St. Louis, she moved to California to pursue her dream of life on the stage, but never became a well-known actress. In addition to coaching such singing legends as Lena Horne and Judy Garland, Thompson also appeared in a few movies including "Funny Face" and "Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon", which stars her goddaughter, Liza Minnelli. "Eloise", her first and best known book, was published in 1955.
