|This bbc production, set in the small town of highbury depicts the often hilarious attempts of miss emma woodhouse to make proper marital matches for all of her friends.|
Editor's NoteA lavish BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's 1816 novel about the meddlesome Emma Woodhouse, a well-meaning but often misguided matchmaker whose scheming ultimately catches up with her--in delightfully unexpected ways.

Watched the First Five Minutes7/29/2008
Up front, I will say I only watched the first five minutes of this version of EMMA. It was filmed like a US soap opera from the eighties. I expected a mini-series which was an actual production/movie. I'm sure I will watch the rest of it some time, but I think I'll get one of the other versions first. I had hoped it would be like the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice which was well done. I don't fault Buy.com for any of this, though.
