Author Bio
Donald J. Sobol
Donald J.Sobol was raised in New York City. He served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in World War II and later attended Oberlin College. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a journalist. His career as an author for children began with historical fiction such as THE LOST DISPATCH. Sobol is best known for his series of books about Encyclopedia Brown, which began in 1963 with ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN: BOY DETECTIVE--these books have been translated into 14 languages.
