Bragging rights: The Take SAT speaker brings Energy engineering principles to home theater sound:
The Take SAT 2-way bass reflex speaker offers terrific performance and great features:
Featuring the same components as the rest of the Take Series, the Take SAT is voice matched to blend perfectly with any of its counterparts, making it excellent for use as the left, right or center channels of a home theater system or as part of a stereo system.
The single woofer with Ribbed Elliptical Surround allows the Take SAT to play loud, clean bass, making your movies come to life. The center-mounted 1-inch chambered aluminum dome tweeter delivers crisp high frequencies.

Nice for the Price4/20/2012
I bought these to serve as new Front Left and Right speakers in an original Energy Take (now called "Classic") surround system. They blend well sonically and allow use of the former fronts as 7.1 surrounds. They perform well so far, and look good, though they don't seem as sturdy as the original Take satellites. For example, they use spring clips instead of binding posts, so I could not keep the spade lugs of my original installation. Unlike older Energys they are made in China not Canada.
The speakers are well made, nice sound!
These speakers and the innovation are impressive for the price. They sound great for what they are and am very happy with replacing my Polk Audio rears.
I've used this speaker both as and addition to a Take Classic system (as the front channel speakers in a 7.1 surround system) and as surround speakers in a higher end system (Two Take TWRs for the front channels, a Take FPS for the center channel, and four Take SATs for the surrounds. These speakers have a nice, neutral frequency resoponse that make them a great home theater speaker. They only weigh about 2.5 pounds, which makes them easy to use with most speaker stands (though Energy sells some custom fit ones that look really slick too). Use an Energy Take LCR for your center channel and a ESW-8 (or if you can spring for it, an ESW-V8) for your sub, and you'll have a rocking home theater system!
