In three years Enrique has sold more than ten million copies of his first two albums, entitled "Enrique Iglesias" and "Vivire". Now his new album, "Enrique", includes six songs written by Iglesias himself. Never before has any performer achieved so much in so little time. Winner of the GRAMMY Award for the Best Latin Pop Performer, Enrique Iglesias is the most impressive Hispanic phenomenon of the last 25 years and he appears to be the greatest international star in this next decade.

Born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain, Enrique Iglesias began his career in 1995, when he was barely 20 years old and made his appearance in the music world with his first album, which he had been secretly planning since he was 16 without anyone, not even his family, knowing. He has been on top ever since.

In the United States alone he has earned two platinum records, as certified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), for sales of over two million copies of his first two records. Nine of his songs have ranked number one on the radio stations of over 19 countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia, proof of how solid his international career is.

Muze PNote Enrique Iglesias does his illustrious family proud with the spirited, dance club-friendly ENRIQUE. Already having made a well-received resurfacing with "Bailamos" on the WILD WILD WEST soundtrack, this hunky singer has clearly grown up a bit and sounds better than ever on this fully bilingual production. And the Groove Brothers' contribution as producers makes for a winning combination of traditional organica, electronic pulsation, and pop allure.
Muze PNote Enrique lifts el ritmo on high on "Rhythm Divine," declaring the romantic power of the beat to the entrancing sounds of Spanish guitars and hazy electronic loops. "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is another Iberian-tinged fantasy, only this one unfolds slowly as a rose with Whitney Houston bringing vocal honey to the duet. Part of what makes this Latino so appealing to non-Spanish speakers (besides his handsome mug) must be his groovy wrapping of memorable, simple Spanish phrases in English verses, along with the fact that he also offers three of the tunes in both languages.

Professional Reviews

Entertainment Weekly (12/3/99, p.99)
- "...impeccable....heartfelt and romantic, making dancefloor demands somewhere between a samba and a sway....Iglesias may find gold in the middle of the road." - Rating: B

Q (2/00, p.89)
- 3 stars out of 5 - "...sounds uncannily like Chris Isaak throughout, boasts a fine set of pipes, strums some outrageously lovely Spanish guitar, and ensures there's enough pure corn to keep Dad happy. Slightly better than you might expect."
