Epic journey!

on 5/1/2012

Enslaved is one incredible adventure. The story was gripping and the graphics look incredible on an HD tv. The platforming is some of the best there is in video games today. The puzzles in this game supply a nice challenge and the combat is fun and easy to get into.

The graphics are awesome in this game. The scenery and character models are both very well done. The game world is extremely colorful and beautiful. The sound is also incredible. I really like the epic soundtrack. The voice acting is extremely well done and made me really care about the characters. Perhaps one of the best aspects of the game is the story

Product Overview

Enslaved is a post-apocalyptic retelling of the classic 400-year old novel ‘Journey to the West’. Set 150 years from now, the world has been ruined by war and ecological disaster with only a handful of survivors remaining.

In Enslaved, players take on the role of Monkey, a strong and athletic, yet solitary figure, who been captured by one of the mysterious slave ships, which harvest the remaining population and take them out west never to return. Trip, a technologically savvy young woman who has also been imprisoned by the same ship, manages to escape. She quickly realizes that Monkey, with his raw strength and power, is her only hope to survive the perilous journey back to her home. She hacks into a slave headband and fits it on Monkey, linking them together – if she dies, he dies… Her journey has now become his and Monkey must now travel west alongside Trip as they traverse a demolished world, under constant threat of capture and mortal peril.

Review Enslaved is not perfect. It has some technical problems, and the combat and platforming are simplistic, but they are problems that can be easily forgiven...The voice acting and musical score are quite literally on the same level of the most expensive Hollywood films. That is where Ninja Theory recruited their talent from and it shows. The frame rate does take some heavy hits, but the game looks beautiful...it's easy to overlook the technical problems of Enslaved, simply because everything else is so damn compelling. This is not a checklist of what makes a game great, but taken as a whole, it IS a great game.
