|Follow a Gripping, Surprise-Filled Journey as Two Dissimilar Characters Form an Uneasy Partnership in Order to Survive Through a Perilous, Post-Apocalyptic America.
Enslaved is a post-apocalyptic retelling of the classic 400-year old novel ‘Journey to the West’. Set 150 years from now, the world has been ruined by war and ecological disaster with only a handful of survivors remaining.

In Enslaved, players take on the role of Monkey, a strong and athletic, yet solitary figure, who been captured by one of the mysterious slave ships, which harvest the remaining population and take them out west never to return. Trip, a technologically savvy young woman who has also been imprisoned by the same ship, manages to escape. She quickly realizes that Monkey, with his raw strength and power, is her only hope to survive the perilous journey back to her home. She hacks into a slave headband and fits it on Monkey, linking them together – if she dies, he dies… Her journey has now become his and Monkey must now travel west alongside Trip as they traverse a demolished world, under constant threat of capture and mortal peril.

Expert Review Enslaved for the Xbox 360 Review

Monkey, despite the name, is the ultimate beat-em-up character. The genre traditionally relies on a trio of styles, the all-rounder, the speed, and the power. Monkey is all three, a enormously tenacious brute bashing away at surviving mechs of a war long past. How Enslaved generates his ferocity is through simple, non-disorienting camera tricks, a slight judder here, a quick edit there. It may even slow down on the final hit of a screen clear, showing the insanity of the splashing sparks and the adrenaline on his face....read the full review

Enslaved is not perfect. It has some technical problems, and the combat and platforming are simplistic, but they are problems that can be easily forgiven...The voice acting and musical score are quite literally on the same level of the most expensive Hollywood films. That is where Ninja Theory recruited their talent from and it shows. The frame rate does take some heavy hits, but the game looks beautiful...it's easy to overlook the technical problems of Enslaved, simply because everything else is so damn compelling. This is not a checklist of what makes a game great, but taken as a whole, it IS a great game. - Kyle Hilliard
