Kenneth Milton Stampp
Historian Kenneth Stampp was regarded as one of the premier Civil War historians, and his book THE PECULIAR INSTITUTION was used in college classrooms for decades. Stampp received his degrees from the University of Wisconsin, after which he got a job at the University of California at Berkeley, where he taught until his retirement in the 1980s.
