| Exploitation adjourned is a murder mystery that begins with an unidentified corpse and then moves back to the past with Margaret, a woman who was elated over her chance to marry well. Margaret gradually discovers that she is involved with a man she doesn't know at all and in a marriage that is more nightmarish than dream. And then she does something about it. She begins creating a maze of deception and finds herself on the run with an aging father and in an independent life totally diverse and unimaginable from her married days. Over time however, the web of deception begins to unravel and Margaret is forced to make bold and heartbreaking decisions that will again change her life forever. Ron Case, the cop we met in Lapsed Values, has moved up to the senior partner role and finds he must seek advice from his old partner Ted Smith who reminds him to begin with the with the basics. Finding out the identity of the corpse once again is the most vexing part of the mystery. |
