Farscape: The Complete Season 2 unfolds as a tapestry of histories and mysteries. Following Season One's harrowing finale, John Crichton and the crew of the living space ship Moya must now evade the villainous Scorpius. But that's even harder than it seems, thanks to the insidious connection Scorpius has forged with Crichton. And if the Peacekeepers weren't enough trouble, Crichton and company soon cross paths with the ambitious, reptilian Scarran race. The crew's unstable camaraderie is tested when they discover the part a crew member played in the brutal fate of Moya's first Pilot. Things spin even further out of control as the crew struggles to deal with the violent nature of Moya's offspring not to mention murders, royal weddings, identity crises, terrorists and slave traders. Building upon the mind-boggling Season 1, FARSCAPE SEASON TWO delivers even more ingenious stories, extraordinary new characters, its razor-sharp dialogue and dazzling special effects, from the artists at Jim Henson Productions.

This six disc DVD collection includes all 22 episodes from the The Complete Season 2 of Farscape.

"...a solid diversion if you're looking for something new and different in the realm of science fiction.  Kevin Lee, DVDVerdict.com

Editor's Note
One of the Sci Fi Channel's most popular series, FARSCAPE is the story of a band of misfit renegades on the run from military Peacekeepers. The hero of the series is the human John Crichton (Ben Browder), a young astronaut and astrophysicist who becomes stranded on the other side of the universe when his Farscape module goes through a wormhole. There, he is taken in by the sentient ship Moya, where he tangles with the beautiful and volatile captive Peacekeeper Aeryn (Claudia Black). This collection includes every episode from the series' second season, which begins as Crichton, Aeryn, and the Farscape crew are forced to abandon Moyan newborn Talyn so that they may continue their journeys.

Who would have thought a TV series where two major characters are puppets would manage to be taken seriously? I didn't, and while I enjoyed the first few episodes of the first series I really didn't think it could take off. How wrong I was - even at the beginning of the first series there was a lot of promise, and this has been built on to the extent that I now think Farscape is just as important as the various Trek's in the TV science fiction arena...Leaving behind the somewhat stuffy image that Star Trek has picked up in recent years, Farscape never takes itself too seriously. But at the same time it's not exactly lightweight stuff. The series tackles numerous concepts usually restricted to the realms of heavy sci-fi. In addition even with the core characters, you're never quite sure if they're on the same team and double-crossing seems to be a way of life aboard the living starship, Moya. Despite this, the crew still manage to co-exist believably and although they almost always end up fighting on the same side, the way that this is done is very believable...It's quite difficult to work out who the target audience is. While for the most part the concepts and stories are suitable for wide audience, the writers have chosen not to aim at as large an audience as possible with some quite adult language present in some episodes. One or two episodes due to appear later in the series have been classified as 18 by the BBFC...One thing the writers are not scared of doing is pushing the envelope of the series. There isn't the 'reset-button' mentality that prevails over other series. Characters actions DO resonate through the series and the writers are obviously not holding back in the character development department. - Colin Polonowski
