Performance

Quiet, smooth operation. Basket fills quickly, so don't overfill it. Window area to view level of shredded paper is nice. Don't forget the lubricating oil that is recommended. If this lasts for many years, I would give it a complete 5 star rating. My last two other brands of shredders lasted only 2 years. Seems to be a solid model. This one is more expensive, so I expect many trouble-free years from it.

This unit is compact and robust. The visible parts are all metal, the motor is high torque and relatively quiet (cheaper models sound like a power drill). I use it for light shredding... no not shredding lights... but the manufacturer allows 5 sheets at a time which is much more than my average use. The top comes off the waste bin and has a kill switch so it can't accidently turn on. I don't know how to unjam it since I haven't yet had a paper jam. The manufacturer suggests reversing the motor to push out any jammed paper. They suggest regular oiling with a non-petrolum base lubricant (coincidentally sold right here at this web site).
