Howard Goldblatt has been a professor of Chinese at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The translator of numerous texts, he was awarded the Translation Center Robert Payne Award in 1985 and nominated for the PEN West's Literary Translation Award in 1994. He is the founder and editor of "Modern Chinese Literature".
Born to a mining family, David Wakefield's experiences as an art student and professional rugby player have served as the grounding of his fiction.
