From #1 bestselling author Evanovich comes the next book in her Stephanie Plum series, in which complications arise, loyalties are tested, cliffhangers are resolved, and donuts are eaten.
From the Publisher:
Unbuckle your belt and pull up a chair. It's the spiciest, sauciest, most rib-sticking plum yet.|Recipe for disaster: Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head - literally.|Throw in some spice: Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she'll talk to is Trenton cop Joe Morelli.|Pump up the heat: Chipotle's sponsor is offering a million-dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers.|Stir the pot: Lula recruits bounty hunter Stephanie Plum to help her find the killers and collect the moolah.|Add a secret ingredient: Stephanie Plum's Grandma Mazur. Enough said.|Bring to a boil: Stephanie Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, aka Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, and five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, and solve Ranger's problems and not jump his bones?|Warning: Habanero hot. So good you'll want seconds.
Annotation:
When the rookie member of the Vincent Plum Bail Bonds crew witnesses a beheading, Stephanie has to deal with the hysterics of Lula--who now fears for her life, the attitude of the infuriatingly sexy Morelli, and an inside traitor she's supposed to track down. Stephanie Meyer knows how to pack the punches and keep the romance hot. This is in fact more than the 15th entry in her bestselling series.
Author Bio
Janet Evanovich
Stephanie Plum, the New Jersey-based bounty hunter featured in Janet Evanovich's popular crime series, has been called "a cross between Nancy Drew and Dirty Harry." The Plum books routinely appear on the bestseller lists and have made Evanovich one of the wealthiest and most visible writers working today. Born in a working-class section of New Jersey, Evanovich was the first in her family to continue her formal education past high school. After earning a bachelor's degree in fine arts from Douglass College, part of New Jersey's state-university system, she stayed at home to raise her two children and took sporadic secretarial jobs through a temp agency. She also began writing romance novels, and although she diligently sent her work to agents and publishers, it took a decade before she sold her first manuscript, HERO AT LARGE, which was released in 1987 and earned her $2,000. She published several more books over the next few years, initially using the pen name Steffie Hall. "It was a rewarding experience," she has quipped, "but after twelve romance novels I ran out of sexual positions and decided to move into the mystery genre." The first Stephanie Plum book, ONE FOR THE MONEY, was published in 1994, and the bumbling bounty hunter became an immediate hit with readers. Since then, Evanovich has published approximately one Plum novel a year, and in 2012 a movie version of the first book, starring Katherine Heigl, was released. In addition to that series, Evanovich writes comic adventures set in the world of NASCAR racing as well as an occasional paranormal caper. In 2012 she made the Forbes list of the 100 top celebrities in the world, based on entertainment-related earnings plus media exposure; she was one of only a handful of authors to be featured on the list, which is comprised mainly of actors and singers.

Praise

"Evanovich writes with flair in an absurdist vein that her imitators can only envy." - Marilyn Stasio 06/21/2009
