This was given to my daughter as a gift. She loved it and went to bed with it every night. The color is called green, but I would describe it more as aqua, suitable for a little boy or girl. Of course, when you press the belly of the seahorse, it glows and plays music. The music is very soothing and not annoying for the parents. The music and light stay on for a bit before auto-turning off. Another nice feature is if you don't want it on, you can press the belly again and it will turn it off. Sounds stupid, but this has come in handy several times...like when we were packing for a trip and I accidentally turned it on. In order to avoid a meltdown, I was able to turn it off before she heard it and stealthily pack it in our luggage. It takes 3 AA batteries and it doesn't seem like we are replacing all the time. My daughter handed this down to my son when he was born, so we have been using this soother for almost 3 years. It is still going strong with no appearance of wear...and probably the biggest feat is that the parents aren't sick of the tunes! If you are comparing this with a traditional glow worm, I highly recommend this instead. The traditional glow worm's music is very annoying. It auto-shuts off after one short song...not even long enough for me to leave the room, let alone a child to fall asleep. And no way to turn off mid-song if you want...the only good thing about the song being so short.
