	Floating Action is the new pseudonym of the multi-hyphenate homespun music savant Seth Kauffman. His self-titled album is a ramshackle melting pot of uniquely American sounds, from swampy blues to ghostly folk, primitive garage rock, and funk. Its stewpot versatility makes FLOATING ACTION almost as impossible to pin down as it is to dismiss. Sometimes referred to as a "southern-fried Beck," Kauffman shares that singer's artistic curiosity but has also found new avenues to explore. "Marie Claire" is a bouncing jalopy of a song, all echoed guitars and off-key background vocals, and "Could You Save Me" is organ-greased, slow-burn soul.
